At Inspired Life Chiropractic we strongly believe massage therapy is an integral piece of your wellness care. Our patients love the increased benefits they achieve when adding massage to their chiropractic care plan. Our team of massage therapists work closely with our team of doctors to give you the best care possible.
Prior to your visit you will need to complete our personalized form to indicate any medical history, injuries, or physical conditions our licensed massage therapists should be aware of. This step is important, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to focus on you. Our therapists will review your history and discuss the areas of your body you would like to address.
Your therapist will step out for a moment, allowing you to disrobe (to your comfort level) and lay onto a table underneath the top sheet and blanket. During your massage, your therapist will only uncover the areas of your body they are working on.
You can ask for either a full-body massage for stress reduction and to maintain wellness or a customized session focusing on specific areas for pain relief, increased function, and improved range of motion. And remember, your comfort matters. Feel free to talk with your therapist as much, or as little, as you wish.
It is important to relax your mind and muscles during your massage. Breathe normally and try not to tighten or contract your muscles. Maintain open lines of communication with your therapist if you would like to provide feedback on their pressure or techniques.
Massage for Wellness
Your massage therapist will use a variety of techniques including gliding, kneading, stretching, and compressive strokes to encourage a calm nervous system, optimal for healing and repair. This is a good choice if you are looking to connect your mind and body, decrease stress, and reduce pain. We recommend a wellness massage if you have never had a massage before or if it’s been a while since your last one. Historically, Swedish Massage has been the name used to achieve these systemic benefits.
Massage for Pain Relief
Pain science has been at the forefront of conversation in healthcare and massage therapy has a unique spot in this conversation. Through mechanical strokes (pressure on tissues) and reflexive techniques (strokes to calm the nervous system – an important component of pain relief and healing), your massage therapist will assess the health of your tissues, test your range of motion, and ask you more questions about how your pain affects your day-to-day. A combination of myofascial massage, trigger point therapy, cupping, and Swedish massage will be applied to achieve optimal results.
Our Chiropractors and Massage Therapists work together to help our patients who have trigger point issues to promote whole body wellness.
Therapeutic massage has been used for centuries to improve overall health, reduce stress, and relieve muscle tension. Research shows prenatal massage therapy can help reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Prenatal massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, one of which is called Swedish Massage.
Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your Skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood circulation, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Hot Stone Massage Therapy
- Allows deeper penetration into the muscles
- Provides greater muscular release
- Improves blood flow
- Increases relaxation and induces a feeling of well-being
- Leaves you feeling fabulous
Hot stone massage is an ancient technique where hot stones are used as a warm extension of the therapist's hands and are also placed at different sites on the body. The heat of the massage stones warms the skin, which allows for the absorption of moisturizing and therapeutic oils, while simultaneously preparing the musculature of the body so the massage therapist can work into the deeper muscle layers.
Zerona Fat Laser
Enjoy the benefits of a detoxifying focused massage with the pain free technology of the Zerona Fat laser. During this treatment you will relax under the cold laser therapy light while your therapist skillfully works to stimulate lymphatic movement to assist the laser treatment effectiveness. Your therapist will include a combination of dry brushing, lymphatic massage, cupping and essential oils benefiting lymphatic drainage and detoxification.
The non-invasive ZERONA® laser emulsifies the adipose tissue and releases excess fat into the interstitial space. From there, fat is passed through the body during its normal course of detoxification.
The ZERONA® procedure has been proven through a double-blind, randomized, multi-site and placebo-controlled clinical study in which clients, on average, lost 3.72 inches from their waist, hips and thighs. These results were dramatic compared to the placebo group, which only lost an average of half an inch over the same time. This procedure is not recommended for pregnant or nursing moms.
